House Cleaning 101
In these recessionary times we all want to find the best deal for everything and house cleaning services are no different. In the cleaning industry there are many informal house cleaners who are able to charge quite low prices for their services but are there risks involved in choosing a person who may not have appropriate legal status. Does it matter if you choose an independent one-man-show or small business operator or should you go with one of the large privately held companies or franchised service providers? What does it mean if a cleaning service provider is insured and bonded and is this something you should you require.

Friday's Eco-Friendly Find
Today’s Bidmycleaning’s Eco-Friendly web find is Groovy Green’s focus is on renewable energy and sustainable living, finding ways to reduce consumption, find cleaner alternatives to power the gadgets, cars, etc and improve improve health and lives we lead today.
The site which strives to be ‘The People’s Green Magazine’ covers national and international news, products, and the people fighting to make a difference in promoting sustainability. Promote involvement in local community events and also in national and international discussions and organizations that directly effect the ‘green movement’.
Categories include; Charity, Climate Change, Gardening, Green Living, Composting, Energy, Transportation and Entertainment, always from a green perspective. Some recent product reviews have been for New Balance Eco Shoes and a pop-up solar shower. Recent articles include one on a new solar collector based on nanotechnology and a green mansion with an ocean view floor.
When it comes to green cleaning we didn’t find too much on the site other than a review of some green cleaning products from EcoDiscoveries which was a line we hadn’t heard of before.
Overall, Groovy Green is definitely worth adding to your list of green bookmarks.

So there are these web awards called the Crunchies … I know it’s an odd name but I guess it comes from TechCrunch being one of the sponsors. When we launched BidMyCleaning in March of 2006 we offered our service in just two cities, Houston and San Diego. Why these two cities you might ask? Well two of the co-founders live in Houston and the other two live in San Diego.
